Charane Kummelehne earned her MSBA, Finance from San Diego State University in 2000. Prior to obtaining her Masters’ Degree, Charane graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accountancy from California State University, San Marcos.
Charane has worked both in tax and accounting for over 25 years. Her experience covers many industries including restaurants, franchises, and medical/dental offices to name a few. Her small business accounting services background includes providing full payroll services and monthly financial statement preparation. Charane writes business plans and helps owners obtain financing for growing their operations. Prior to founding BalaCent, LLP, she worked in lending industry for 6 years. Her tax experience includes corporate, partnership and individual returns.
Charane grew up in Carlsbad and lives in Vista with her husband and her three sons.
Marie Kerckhoffs, CPA, MSBA, has worked in accounting for small businesses for 25 years. She has worked for restaurants, medical, consulting, wireless and manufacturing companies. Prior to working in accounting Marie was a restaurant manager for 5 years. Her professional experience includes accounting, taxes, pension, payroll, payroll conversions and financial analysis.
She has created business plans and helped businesses determine which parts of their operations are more profitable than others. She has created financial plans and helped businesses obtain financing to start new businesses, fund operations, and facilitate growth. She has significant experience managing small businesses. Marie graduated with honors from San Diego State University with a Masters’ degree in Business and a focus in Finance. Prior to obtaining her Masters’ degree she graduated cum laude from California State University, San Marcos.
Marie grew up in San Diego and now lives in Carlsbad with her husband and her daughter.

Tax Specialist
Anne-Marie Caporale, CPA has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. She has worked in Big 4, medium, and small local CPA firms in the San Diego area. She earned her MSA from San Diego State University in 2000 and her Bachelor of Accountancy in 1997 at the University of San Diego. She specializes in tax compliance and planning for closely held businesses and individuals with a concentration on multi-state taxation, restaurant franchisees, and medical, consulting, and small business owners.
Payroll Specialist
Ann Stockdale has been working in payroll and accounting for over 10 years. She has a Bachelor’s (2001) and a Master’s (2004) degree in Psychology from California State University, San Marcos. She primarily works with restaurant franchisees to properly process their payroll and assist them with meeting their time tracking and reporting requirements.
Lead Accountant
Tori Bruce earned a Bachelor’s degree from the California State University, San Marcos in 2001. She has over 20 years of accounting experience working for franchisees, biotech, software, and construction companies. She handles monthly accounting for our clients.
Accounts Payable Specialist
Kellie Green has over 20 years in the banking and finance industry. Her experience includes loan auditor, loan officer and client relationships. She performs all accounts payable duties for our clients.
Tax Coordinator, Accounting Assistant
Amie Callahan earned her Associate’s degree from Mira Costa College in 1995. She coordinates client communications, documentation, and filings for the tax department. She also supports our payroll and accounting team.
